The media used to create this image were: pencil, tracing paper, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe InDesign. This is an illustration of the surgical instrument Needle Driver. It is commonly used by the surgeon to stabilize the needle as he/she uses it to reconnect opened tissues. The purpose of this illustration was to show the details of the "mouth" of the instrument in the 3/4 perspective view. I used the actual instrument and drew a sketch from it. Next, I scanned it in the computer and opened the illustration in Adobe Illustrator. Then, I used the pen tool to create a pen and ink digital illustration of the instrument.
